Le cycliste longe des vestiges dont l\u2019histoire s\u2019\u00e9tale sur 6 mill\u00e9naires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Les plus apparents sont relatifs \u00e0 un site gaulois fortifi\u00e9 du 1er si\u00e8cle avant J.- C. appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Ambacia\u00a0\u00bb. D&rsquo;une superficie de plus de 50 hectares, il occupait l&rsquo;\u00e9peron rocheux au confluent de la Loire et de l&rsquo;Amasse.&nbsp;C&rsquo;\u00e9tait probablement l&#8217;emplacement de la capitale des Turons.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">On peut encore y voir un vestige de rempart de terre (vallum) en suivant la rue Augustin Thierry sur une distance de 750 m depuis la table d&rsquo;orientation sur la ville d&rsquo;Amboise.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alcollot.fr\/lorvelo-et-patrimoine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-44.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3434\" width=\"441\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alcollot.fr\/lorvelo-et-patrimoine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-44.png 316w, https:\/\/www.alcollot.fr\/lorvelo-et-patrimoine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-44-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Au passage, sur la gauche, vous verrez la \u00ab\u00a0butte de C\u00e9sar\u00a0\u00bb, sorte de grosse colline artificielle haute de 6 m.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alcollot.fr\/lorvelo-et-patrimoine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-45.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3435\" width=\"440\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alcollot.fr\/lorvelo-et-patrimoine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-45.png 338w, https:\/\/www.alcollot.fr\/lorvelo-et-patrimoine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-45-300x201.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Le rempart primitif, \u00e9lev\u00e9 en trois si\u00e8cles (-400 \u00e0 -50), est fait d\u2019argile, de pieux en bois, d\u2019un foss\u00e9 de 10 m de profondeur. Au Nord, il est prolong\u00e9 par les d\u00e9fenses naturelles de la Loire et au Sud, de l\u2019Amasse. La pr\u00e9sence de galets montre que des recharges successives ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faites \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9poques pour rehausser le rempart. Son importance diminue avec la mise en culture du plateau.
